My name is john Gabriel. Doing boat hull repairs for nearly 30 years, I want to describe how I came about producing my own series of boat repair, instructional videos.

With the long term experience working with fiberglass, gelcoat, and paint products.
Starting out in my teens head first into boat repairs it became my everyday experience till this day, for years building custom hardtops to the best they can be, building full enclosures on yachts, building anything from fiberglass. Complete overall gelcoat refinishing, to extreme, and the thousands of repairs single handed. I have learned all the dos and don’ts and the best materials to use establishing an elite clientele.

Fiberglass and gelcoat repair can be a messy job all around, and if not done properly you may easily damage the area making it worse than it was. The gelcoat repair technique that is used in my instructional video, I guarantee all my customers and me a perfect job from every angle every time. And to receive a job like that it would cost you dearly as you may already know between $75 and $110 per hour for any type of boat repair. And with the right knowledge and a little money to set up your own toolbox for repairs, you could be set up to repair your own boat every time you have an accident.

So in doing 12 hours of different types of repairs, the most common types and putting them on film and editing myself with no deadline, I was able to edit exactly what I wanted to add as the year went on, resulting in a video that explains exactly everything as I do with my repair in the shortest time possible, with a full introduction on all materials and how they work.

Gelcoat repair is scientific with the different additives and reducers that react with it, and if certain ones are mixed with others it will counteract the hardening process, causing it to never harden thoroughly or never shine properly, even break down with solvents later. That happens to many who do there own repair too. Many claimed professionals use the wrong products and additives for a specific job, so I have started a information website to learn more about the products and where to purchase them, as some are hard to find. A complete material list with the name of the product inside a 12 page manual, with colored photos that follow the complete video. As a result a video for those who want a 5 star repair period.
